A word from our founder
Nasir Ahmed
GURUS was founded eighteen years ago. It was an exciting time and GURUS pioneered the way for other digital agencies to follow. We had great fun moulding ideas into reality and coaxing the best out of software tools and meagre server resources. We broke down the doors of technology giants and found ways of doing things that were never meant to be done.
A lot has happened since 1997. What was then an exciting new landscape has become a matter of course.
Digital Agencies are now two a penny, the only differentiator being the funky new name or the office decor. The industry has fragmented from full service agencies to sector specific teams working from anywhere in the world.
Whereas we welcome this as an industry, its a long way from what we enjoy doing – which is solving problems and launching successful enterprises. We aren’t looking to jump from project to project as we’d rather get stuck into something meaty and get on board for the long drive from conception to adoption.
During our time we have helped a lot of business’ achieve their online ambition and made a lot of friends on the way, but we also backed a lot of ideas that have become very successful.
We want to build upon that success by branching out to back more ideas with funding and resources.
With GURUS you are talking to people who have been where you are many times with our own projects or client work. Getting from an idea to a proof of concept and to a successful launch can be an uphill struggle.
We make this journey a lot easier – we can fill in the gaps or deliver the entire project as well as make sure there’s enough funding to ensure a successful launch and early traction.
